On August 28, the Joint Laboratory of Laser Vibration Measurement for Aircraft Rotors was announced at the Zhejiang Engineering Research Center for Special Aircrafts by Ningbo Institute of Materials Technology and Engineering (NIMTE), Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS) and SunnyInnovation Optical Intelligence Corporation (SunnyInnova), Yuyao, Zhejiang. The event was attended by Dr. Xinmin Chen, Head of the Special Aircraft Systems Engineering Research Center along with research staff, and Mr. Miaojun Wang, President and CEO of SunnyInnovation Optical Intelligence Corporation together with the technical team.
The establishment of this joint laboratory represents a significant initiative by the NIMTE Engineering Research Center to enhance the industry-academia-research program with collaborative innovation and key testing capabilities for the general aviation economy prompted by local governments. It marks a new phase of cooperation between the SunnyInnova and NIMTE in the aviation vibration testing. Aimed at resource sharing and collaborative innovation, both sides agreed to focus on the national aviation technology strategy and the development needs of the low-altitude aircrafts. They will concentrate on the joint R&D of vibration measurement technology rotating structures with synchronization and non-contact laser technology with the objectives of breaking key technical barriers, promoting technological innovation, and enhancing technical capabilities. These efforts will advance the product innovation and improve efficiency in the testing process.
At the ceremony, Dr. Xinmin Chen, Head of the Engineering Research Center, expressed strong support for the establishment of the joint laboratory. He emphasized that this collaboration will significantly enhance in-depth integration in scientific research synergy, technical breakthroughs, and achievement transformation, leveraging technological innovation to empower the high-quality development of the aviation technology. Mr. Miaojun Wang, President of SunnyInnovation Optical Intelligence Corporation stressed the technical strength and product portfolio in the laser vibration measurement. He stated that the company has always focused on the innovative R&D of high-precision measurement technologies and looks forward to achieving groundbreaking progress in aviation vibration testing and development through this unique partnership.
The two parties will use the joint laboratory as a platform to promote integrated industry-academia-research-application program collaboratively. They will focus on key areas of the general aviation technology in local economy, such as eVTOL airworthiness certification, industrial inspection, and aerial tourism, conducting research on specialized vibration testing and performance evaluation technologies. This initiative aims to provide core technical support and equipment guarantees for the maturation and commercial operations of China’s general aviation industry.
